Rainbow Paper

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.


Definition: A technique for separating the different parts of a mixture / solid using liquid.

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Materials;

1. Container
2. Filterpaer
3. Liquid H20


Process:

Step 1:Draw a line across 2cm from the top of the filter paper and fold then do the same on the bottom 4cm put black green red dots on the 4cm line fill container up just so the water touches the paper.


Findings: What happened? The colours raced to the top of the paper and spread.

Reflection: What have I learnt from this experiment? That paper and ink make the ink spread.

What did the colours do? Race to the top of the paper.
Did the colours mix together? Yes they did sort of.
