Tsunami Experiment

Aim - To make a tsunami

Equipment- Container, Sand, Water, Popsicle sticks, Tinfoil, Newspaper, String, Skewers

Method - Fill one side of container up with sand, make some buildings fill the other side with water put a building in and make waves by shaking container

Research - Its over 1,700-foot wave was the largest ever recorded for a tsunami. It inundated five square miles of land and cleared hundreds of thousands of trees.

Discussion/Conclusuon - 1st The building that lasted the longest was the sky scraper made out of skewers I think it is because it was skinny so didnt get hit by the water the same 2nd Was the building made out of popsicle sticks and tinfoil 3rd was the building made out of popsicle sticks and to foil.  I feel like we could have spent more time and effort making better buildings.

How do tsunamis form? Tsunamis are made from tectonic plates underneath the ocean grinding like a earthquake just underwater then it creates a big wave.
